What is NordLynx?
NordLynx is a new WireGuard-based VPN protocol offered by NordVPN. It leverages the speed of WireGuard while addressing some of that protocol’s shortcomings.
NordVPN builds NordLynx with just 4,000 lines of code. It’s safer and leaner than other popular VPN protocols, giving it a decisive speed advantage.
By itself, WireGuard can improve speed, but it jeopardizes user anonymity.
In particular, WireGuard requires a static address table on the server which can easily negate the purpose of VPN use: Anonymity. Investigators need only check the WireGuard address table to connect your VPN address with your ISP-assigned IP address.
NordLynx changes that by developing “Double NAT” technology. That gives the same local IP address to every user. From there, the system gives a unique IP address to each tunnel. NordLynx uses an external database to manage authentication.
